God's Outlaw..The Real Story of William Tyndale and the English Bible
written by Voice of the Martyrs with A. Paquette

God's Outlaw is an excellent picture book for ages 4-10, although it would be profitable and enjoyable for all ages. It tells the story of William Tyndale, the scholar who translated the Bible into English, so it could be read by the common people. It is inspiring to read about Tyndale's great faith and determination against all odds. He obeys God rather than men and is pursued relentlessly by his enemies. Tyndale was certain that reading God's word for themselves would change people's lives and it did! The book mentions (at the end) all the people in the world who still are not allowed to have Bibles in their own languages. It exhorts us to pray for these Christians. It also gives a scripture, questions for study and a prayer at the end. Voice of the Martyrs Book Store

The Hedge of Thorns
Rewritten by Mark Hamby

The Hedge of Thorns is one of Lamplighter Publishing's Rare Collector Series. It was first published in England in the 18th century and it supposed to be a true story. It tells the story of a young man raised by Godly parents who encounters various obstacles on his Christian walk. It is full of Godly counsel, scriptures and help for Christian living as well as an excellent story. The Hedge of Thorns refers to a real hedge, but alludes to a spiritual hedge that the Lord uses to keep His people on the right path. I have enjoyed several of the Lamplighter Press stories and love reading them aloud to the children. This is a small book with an old fashioned binding and pictures. Lamplighter Publishing
